St. Petersburg and the Republic of Uzbekistan are discussing a new phase of deepening trade and investment cooperation. The collaboration spans high-tech mechanical engineering, agriculture, and light industry sectors.

A working meeting was held at the Committee for Industrial Policy, Innovation, and Trade of St. Petersburg with Davron Dekhanov, the Trade Representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation. The key theme of the dialogue was expanding export opportunities and preparing for upcoming large-scale business events.

It was emphasized during the meeting that the Central Asian direction is one of the most crucial priorities in the city's foreign policy. Today, Uzbekistan consistently ranks among the top three trading partners for St. Petersburg within the CIS.

Furthermore, it was noted that St. Petersburg will present a large-scale collective stand at the VI International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Central Asia" in Tashkent. This platform will serve as a key venue for securing new contracts and showcasing the innovative developments of St. Petersburg's industrialists.

Regional activity aligns with the global objectives set by the presidents of both countries. According to the approved "roadmap," mutual trade between Russia and Uzbekistan is projected to reach $30 billion by 2030.

Ten enterprises from the Sverdlovsk Region will join the region's official business delegation for the INNOPROM Central Asia International Industrial Exhibition, set to take place in Tashkent from April 20 to 22.

According to the Sverdlovsk Region Information Policy Department, the primary objective of the visit is to establish direct business contacts with potential consumers of Ural products and services in Uzbekistan. The itinerary features targeted meetings with representatives of Uzbekistan’s government authorities, as well as senior management from major state-owned and private corporations.

Participating in the delegation during INNOPROM Central Asia offers Ural businesses unique opportunities to enter the market of one of the fastest-growing CIS nations and scale their export operations.

The industrial potential of the Krasnodar Region and new support mechanisms within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) were the central themes of a meeting between the region's Vice-Governor, Alexander Ruppel, and Goar Barsegyan, the Minister for Industry and the Agribusiness Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

Vice-Governor Alexander Ruppel emphasized that the Krasnodar Region is currently a leader in industrial cooperation in Southern Russia. Regional enterprises are already deeply integrated into the production chains of seven domestic industrial clusters.

Special attention was given to international cooperation: supplies of assembly kits for tractors and harvesters, utilizing components manufactured in the Krasnodar (Kuban) region, have been established with the Republic of Belarus. Additionally, a tripartite agreement in the field of agricultural machinery was signed with the Republic of Uzbekistan during the "INNOPROM Central Asia" exhibition in Tashkent.

In exactly two months, the capital of Uzbekistan will once again become the hub for industrial dialogue across the Eurasian space. The 6th International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Central Asia" will take place from April 20 to 22.

The 6th International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Central Asia" will take place in Tashkent from April 20 to 22. The event will be hosted at the CAEx Uzbekistan exhibition center, covering an area of over 18,000 square meters.

The exhibition is held with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Formika Event serves as the event organizer.

The exhibition traditionally brings together business representatives and government authorities from Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and other countries. The key sectors of the exhibition and its business program include mechanical engineering, metallurgy and materials, manufacturing technologies, and energy solutions. Specifically, the Russian section will feature companies such as Rostec, Rosatom, TMH, KAMAZ, Natsproektstroy, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), Arnest Unirussia, TMK, and others. In addition, several collective expositions representing Russian regions will be organized. National pavilions will also be presented by the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2025, the exhibition featured 276 exhibitors from 17 Russian regions, as well as over 200 companies from Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries. In total, the event welcomed delegations from 35 countries worldwide.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC), where he inspected the operations of a new copper concentrate filtration plant. This facility is a critical component of Copper Concentration Plant No. 3 (MOF-3) and represents a significant milestone in the national strategy to establish a robust copper cluster.

The Head of State personally observed the production process and met with the enterprise’s workforce. Currently, the new facility employs approximately 130 specialists. Its design capacity is set to reach approximately 917,000 tons of copper concentrate per year.

The plant is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, including high-performance industrial filter presses, pumping units, and innovative sludge and water circulation systems. These technological solutions comply with international energy efficiency and environmental standards, enabling the recycling of processed water back into the production cycle. Construction is now fully complete; three out of five filter presses have already been commissioned, while the remaining units are undergoing final startup and adjustment.

During the visit, a formal ceremony was held to mark the collection of the first copper concentrate samples. The development of massive industrial projects such as MOF-3 at the Almalyk complex consistently attracts the attention of the international professional community.
